We are happy to announce all four workshops of the Students Crash Course:

Friday 16 March 2012 |  Workshop 1 Introduction nuclear arms control
On Friday the 16 of March we will go to Clingendael, The Hague, to follow the first workshop (10.30h-14.00h): Introduction nuclear arms control by Sico van der Meer (Clingendael, Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam) and Dr. Niels van Willigen (Universiteit Leiden). Lunch will be served after the workshop.

Friday 30 March 2012 |  Workshop 2 The Dutch approach to the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT)
On Friday 30 March we will go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), The Hague. We will follow a workshop on the Dutch approach to NPT. The workshop is scheduled in the afternoon (15.00h-17.00h, to be confirmed).

Friday 13 April 2012 |  Workshop 3 Excursion to high flux in Petten
On Friday 13 April 2012 we will visit the Nuclear Services for Energy, Environment & Health (NRG) in Petten. At 13.00h we will go to the high flux reactor and we will follow a workshop on peaceful use of nuclear technology, nuclear technology development and the Non Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The programme ends at 17.00h.

Workshop 4  |  Final preperations for the PrepCom in Vienna
In the last workshop Wilbert van der Zeijden and Susi Snyder (IKV Pax Christi) will prepare the students for the PrepCom in Vienna: What are we going to do in Vienna? What is the role of NGOs? How to lobby at the PrepCom? What does the programme looks like?

Application
Students can apply until Wednesday 23 February 2012. We will invite a group of students for interviews. At last, we will select five students who can join the workshops and will go to the PrepCom in Vienna.

Other opportunities
We would like to announce that we have received many applications. This, unfortunately, means that we cannot send all students to the workshops and to the PrepCom in Vienna. IKV Pax Christi is however not the only organization with this idea: the European Youth network BANg! also sends students to the NPT PrepCom (application fee: € 150).
