ABOUT ICAN NL
The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) aims to galvanize public and government support for multilateral negotiations on a Nuclear Weapons Convention without further delay.
More than 200 organizations in 60 countries have joined ICAN, with International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War and Mayors for Peace among the first partners. Notable figures have also come on board as ICAN ambassadors — including the Dalai Lama, anti-apartheid leader Desmond Tutu and Nobel Peace Prize-winning anti-landmines advocate Jody Williams.
In 2011 the No Nukes Team of IKV Pax Christi decided to join ICAN to strengthen the ICAN NL hub in the Netherlands.
